The NSMC is delighted to announce that we will be launching the Hastings Safe Space on the 23rd December to support the town's night-time economy. The service will operate on Saturday nights for the next two years, as well as on special event days in the town.

The concept of the Safe Space is really simple - it offers a place of refuge for any vulnerable person who needs help while out in central Hastings. We are also providing a first aid service for anyone who may be intoxicated or have suffered a minor injury. We hope that this service will take pressure of the hard-pressed ambulance and A&E services in the town by providing rapid, on-the-spot treatment delivered by our medical partners Crusader Medical.

As a service provided for the NHS, Safe Space is a new venture for the NSMC and it has been a steep learning curve. However, we are grateful for the support of a wide number of stakeholders in Hastings who have given generously of their time to get us to the launch pad.
