Health professionals wanting to evaluate the value for money of their behaviour change programmes now have extra help from The NSMC.

The new user guides are designed to help users get the most from The NSMC’s Value for Money tools. The guides provide detailed advice on entering data and interpreting the results. They also explain the evidence and give links to further information and support.

The NSMC’s tools – one each for finding out the value for money of alcohol, breastfeeding, smoking, bowel cancer and obesity interventions – have been available to download since July. They are able to calculate the likely cost-effectiveness of planned interventions, as well as evaluate existing ones.
