Katy joined The NSMC as an Associate in 2015. She brings skills and experience in engaging the public in service evaluation and planning as well as programme management and partnership working.
Katy's career began in the NHS, working in Health Promotion and Public Health in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent for 15 years. Here she led and managed a number of programmes and projects in areas including smoking prevention and cessation, children and young people's participation and parenting support. Towards the end of her NHS career, Katy's role changed to Public Health Commissioning, focusing on children, young people and families' physical activity, obesity and mental health.
Since leaving the NHS, Katy has run her own specialist Antenatal and Postnatal Exercise business and has been a Community Engagement Lead for Healthwatch Staffordshire, working with individuals, communities and organisations to enable people to share their views and experiences of health and social care services to influence how services are designed and delivered.
Katy graduated from Lancaster University with a first in Biological Science in 1994 and gained a MA in Public Health from Sheffield Hallam University in 2003.
