Evaluation needs to be embraced during the implementation process and provides a tool to improve what you will be able to achieve.  Tracking and monitoring involves gathering information to check that the intervention is being delivered well, is on track to meet its objectives, and that ethical codes are being properly observed.

You should have set out clear plans for how you will track and monitor your intervention in the social marketing plan produced at the end of the development stage of the planning process.

You will want to collect feedback from staff and stakeholders on how well they feel the intervention is doing and ways it can be improved.  Monitoring the wider world will also help you spot opportunities and threats as early as possible.
